As folks drench their spirit in alcohol
Tears and worship in the air,
As folks pray for the new year.
Some sat in the corner
Making a new year's resolution.
Some sat on social media
Announcing their new found say online.
Sometimes, we create religion and tradition without knowing it's efficacy
We follow blindly what folks say and do
Without understanding their appurtenance.
As you write your dos and don'ts
Don't get overwhelmed or make em bulky
Go easy on you
So, the muse to achieve them won't flee.
As you drink and celebrate
Don't get drunk
It's preposterous to get started; drunk
The year is young and filled with drink
Don't consume all, disperse them.
